Film as bright as it is difficult. Poetic perversion that navigates towards tragedy.
Like very much. Or do not like anything. It’s an extreme movie, as it happened with Mother! of Aronofsky. But in this case Yorgos Lanthimos is not making a toast to the sun and his compass is not lost, but quite the opposite: he knows perfectly where his discharge of demanding cruelty is pointing and that at no time he fears losing spectators in the process. It is possibly the hardest and bravest movie we are going to see this year, and possibly the best attack against that character without character and that trivial laziness that characterizes our changing times.
